The sensible answer to the question ‘Will there be another global crisis because of an infectious disease in the next ten years?’ is ‘I don’t know’.
However, when experts claim knowledge they do not and could not have, they invite the response that people have ‘had enough of experts’.
This is how experts lose their credibility !
And this is why citizens need to learn to be scientifically literate and numerate,so they don’t get taken for a ride !
