Why not let our expert bureaucrats treat COVID-19 patients?

Bureaucrats enjoy ordering doctors around and telling them what they are allowed to do and not allowed to do during this coronavirus crisis. Since they are so expert, so why don’t we allow them to take care of covid-19 patients in hospital as well?
