Many people are petrified that once the lockdown is lifted , there will be another outbreak of coronavirus in India . However, this is not something we need to worry .
In places like Dharavi, where we were never able to implement a Lockdown effectively, because people were too poor to wear masks or “socially distance” themselves, we still haven’t seen a spike in deaths in the last 80 days ! Neither have the hundreds and thousands of migrants who broke the Lockdown and went back to their villages died like flies !
This clearly shows that the Lockdown has been unnecessary in India. Let’s stop aping the West and allow Indians to move on with the lives !
Yes, the number of cases will keep on rising , and this is inevitable , whether there is a Lockdown or not, because this is a viral infection, and we will all get infected.
Also, the number of COVID-19 deaths will continue to rise , because death hasn’t taken a holiday, but there will be no geometric progression, as would be seen in an epidemic !
