“People don’t go to cities, they move away from villages”
” Instead of taking the jobs to people, we need to take people to the jobs”.
This is flawed thinking, and a historical hangover. Yes, cities have advantages, but only for the well-off – not for the poor, who are forced to live in squalid slums !
We are forcing people to travel to cities because there aren’t enough jobs in villages . Not only does this harm the quality of life in cities, because of overcrowding and the proliferation of slums, it also tears people apart from their families, just so that they can feed them !
It’s high time we used technology to develop better options so people aren’t forced to leave their families in order to earn a living !
