Instead of thinking of Byju’s as a Learning App, we should remember that it’s just a Digital Tuition Class – and is plagued with all the problems which tuition classes carry !
The expense; the time wasted; the perverted goal of cramming facts only in order to score high marks in an exam; the desire to be spoon-fed; and the dependence on “notes” and videos, which means students are no longer able to think for themselves !
Just because it’s digital doesn’t fix the underlying problems it’s plagued with !
While this business model is great for investors, who make their money in advance when the parent signs up, it’s terrible for the students, who fail to learn anything because all they are doing is watching slickly produced videos passively !
When was the last time watching a film helped you learn something new ?
