This is exactly why I am not a big proponent of UID as it stands. Without adequate controls, which ought to include a host of layered defenses, privacy pretty much goes for a toss! Not to speak of easy targets for fraudsters!! Disaster waiting to happen unfortunately, unless agencies act tough and fast!
This is really scary!
Preposterous.
In democracy, parties changes the position but policy remain same as the actual policy makers will come public. Congress started Adhaar & BJP has implemented. If Congress does so, how many our Indian fellow would accept that? but if BJP does, most of them have accepted with pain. so guess who is owner of this country
The UIDAI claims make it very clear that they neither understand the import of its intended use nor the implications of its misuse. We remain at the mercy of ignorant agencies that clearly while meaning well, lack the vision and foresight to successfully manage a mega project of this scale for the long term…I remain worried.
This may have just killed the contact database industry in India
