if there is natural immunity built in , who will buy vaccines created , who will fund WHO , who will fund useless govt agencies like CDC. btw where is vaccine for SARS. these vaccines never work for any flu.
We have to think about the trade off anyway. People with low immunity levels will suffer.
Then we are doing just the opposite now 🙁
If we know enough about the pathology of this virus, the argument sticks. Else, you end up with another experiment which exposes people to possibly greater risks.
Shekhar Veera the present uncontrolled experiment is the riskiest of all, but we are both physically and mentally locked in now!
Dr Aniruddha Malpani, something similar I wrote earlier today. Unless herd immunity is developed, we can’t fight any epidemic / pandemic. It has been seen that vaccines don’t protect all against viral respiratory diseases.
Best way forward is to protect the vulnerable populations & allow the healthy young people to return to normal life albeit with universal precautions.
Dr Aniruddha Malpani, undoubtedly risky but only exacerbated by the extremely poor planning. When the PM of a country goes online and announces a lockdown with 4 hours to go, it is bound to have terrible consequences some of which are clearly beginning to unfold. In hindsight, it would be easy to argue that a total lockdown was unwarranted, but given the emerging global data, it wasn’t an irrational choice. But the way this govt has gone about it, I would say, just like decisions in the past around demonetization, and GST, it has been very poorly executed.
Please share with the PMO office, even Indian epidemiologists are stating the same.
Yes, such unnatural interventions will only prolong the damage. The fact is the government only cares about the rich. Thousands of poor die every year due to preventable causes but it is never used as an excuse for anything.
Please create a public proposal suggesting this and submit it to the PMO.
He made the perfect sense plus his statement “I am not paid by the government, I work for science ” shows his resentment to all what we do now. There seems to be no thought or action towards building herd immunity, some governments are expecting lockdown will soon get to a flat curve after which no new cases will be reported.
Result will be mass graves…one developed country tried this approach… changed mind later and locked down. A world famous university did a mathematical simulation of this ‘herd immunity’ approach to estimate humanitarian loss and economic costs.. results are scary. Interventions MUST be there until scientific community understands this virus. Remember this is a ‘novel’ virus that happens once in a century. What if the virus mutates while running its course?

Makes sense !
It is so amazing & disheartening to see the comments, sad that no one here knows the facts.
