Many Indian entrepreneurs complain that it’s hard to raise funding.
This is just as well , because it helps to separate the wheat from the chaff .
If investments were easily available , many more people who don’t have the passion, perseverance , hustle, audacity, drive and DNA to become successful entrepreneurs would found startups , and end up burning all that money !
Having to run the investor gauntlet in order to raise money serves as an useful hurdle , and helps to separate the Wannabe entrepreneurs from the ones who are serious about devoting their time , energy and life to creating something which is scale-able and sustainable
It’s partly because money is so easily available in Silicon Valley that so many of the startups there go belly up . While they take pride in this , this is not a model we can follow in India , because money is much more expensive here, and we need to be much more frugal about deploying it.
And if you can’t sell to investors, how will you be able to sell to your customers ?
