How some doctors misuse lab tests
Ready, fire, aim !
They first order a standard panel of tests mindlessly for all patients, and then treat the abnormal test result, no matter what the patient’s complaint maybe!
This has been a big problem in corporate hospitals, where tests are a profit center, and doctors are ordered to order them, to meet their targets !
This has become much worse during the Coronavirus crisis, when bureaucrats have started ordering them when to do tests – and when not to !
I have recently experienced that the Fee of Test also depends on which doctor has recommended it. I guess Doctor X had X commission and Doctor Y has Y as commission which is added to the actual cost and given as bill to patient….. really the WHite Coat has lost the respect…..
